Our Musical Director - Liam Baillie

In 2012, Liam graduated from the University of Aberdeen, gaining a First Class Honours Degree in Music Education. He has worked for many years a s a Music Teacher and was recently appointed Principal Teacher of Music at Marr College, Troon.

Liam has always had a keen interest in music, even from an early age. He taught himself how to play and read music which has helped turn his talent into an exceptional one. Liam stepped into his current role as Organist and Choirmaster in St Marnock's Church in 2007 at the tender age of 16 - a position he still holds today. After attending a choral concert with his Mum, he felt inspired to form a choir in order to raise money for charity and the outcome of this dedication is "A Choired Taste" - the culmination of Liam's hard work, inspiration and musical being.

To further enhance and develop this talented choir, Liam has attended many different workshops and masterclasses and has worked with many professional conductors including Neil Ferris, Amy Bebington, Mike Brewer and Paul Mealor.

Liam studied Music as a first study singer and second study pianist. He has regularly performed and accompanied at various musical events. Liam has sung with various choirs over the years including the Glasgow Chamber Choir and the Glasgow Phoenix Choir as well as with numerous ensembles whilst at University. He also had the honour of performing for her Majesty the Queen in September 2012 during the opening ceremony of the new Library at the University of Aberdeen.

As well as his interest in Music, Liam is an avid animal lover and spends much of his time looking after his animal family. Liam also loves to travel, having been to a vast number of places around the world and thirsting to explore new places whenever he has the opportunity.

It is fair to say that Liam lives and breathes music and is incredibly passionate about what he does. His passion and enthusiasm are clearly displayed in the choir's performances.
